This is HRP-4C. A female Humanoid robot. She was created by a Japanese Research Facility called National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology. Her shape and joints are based on the 1997–1998 Japanese body dimension database. and, by using the vocal synthesizer Vocaloid, can sing. Her software is developed on the basis of Open Robotics Platform, OpenRTM-aist and OpenHRP3. Recent upgrades have allowed HRP-4C to mimic human facial and head movements, as well as execute dance steps, resulting in the most realistic performance yet at Tokyo's Digital Content Expo in 2010.
HRP-4C has a realistic head and the average figure of a young Japanese female. It can move like a human and responds based on speech recognition. It is expected to be used in the entertainment industry and as a human simulator for evaluation of devices. She is designed to look like an average Japanese woman between the ages of 19 and 29, HRP-4C has 30 motors in her body that allow her to walk and move her arms and 8 facial motors for blinking, smiling, expressing emotions akin to anger and surprise--and, apparently, working it like a pop star.
This advancement is beneficial to people's/humanity's well-being for its good effects such as it gives entertainment to the people. It interacts with people in a watchable manner.
As robots improve in quality, we’ll only see more of this blending of machines and humans for performance. Who knows this Robot soon will be dancing with Beyonce and other great dancers.
