If I survived a war or natural disaster that wipes out a signficant percentage of the earth's population and the destruction was immense. The top three things that I would re-establish are the edible plants, water streams and houses.
Those three are the basic needs of a person. You might be wondering why I did not include clothing, it is because after a disaster, it is still possible that we wear clothes.
WATER. I chose water as first because it is very essential to humans. Water is all around us, in the air and in the ground. Way back high school, my English Teacher told us that a person can live without food but not without water. Water provides a moist environment for all body tissues. It is the major component of saliva and mucous which lubricates the membranes that line our digestive system beginning with the mouth. Mucous membranes in the nose and eyes function better when well hydrated. Water cushions joints and protects tissues and organs like the brain from shock and damage. See how important water is.
EDIBLE PLANTS. Just like water, food is essential to our body. Maybe you are wondering why plants not animals? Plants are safer than animals. Another thing is I did not list fire in my priorities. Fire is needed to burn animals while edible plants, doesn’t need.
SHELTER. We all know that shelter is important to all of us. I chose this one because we all need a place to live in. A place wherein we can take a rest and
have safety.
There are still lot of things that I want to give high priorities but those three are the most essential things after a disaster.
