This blog entry will show my current online identity. I love blogging, tweeting, taking and post-processing photos, surfing the net and fashion. We were tasked to google our names and look at the results. I used two names in searching. First one is “Ryel Medina” and the other one is “Ryel Christian Medina.”
In Ryel Medina, you would probably see my account from lookbook.nu (a Fashion Site) , flickr.com (a photo streaming site) , twitter.com (a microblogging site) and I just saw this one from listorious.com wherein it has something to do with twitter accounts.
Second one is "Ryel Christian Medina". When I searched for that, I saw my blogger account and some of my entries there. Recently, I posted a new look on lookbook.nu and it was unexpectedly spotted by Oxygen Clothing and posted it on their site wherein people with photos wearing their brand would be posted there. I was wearing an Oxygen Graphic Tee on that new look. I also saw that while reading my searches about my name.
My current online identity speaks of my passion in life such as writing, fashion and photography. I think my online identity is positive for the reason that it doesn't harm anyone or anything and gives me good image.
I think that my online profile might be someday important to me in my plans for the future because as my English One professor told us, "Some employers could search your name online" and by that thought, I think having not only an online profile but a POSITIVE online profile is important for the future especially when applying for a job. For example, I'm applying for a position on a magazine company specifically in the Editorial Section, then my employer would check my name online, and he/she would see my impressive blogs and photos. I think it could help me in getting the position I'm applying for.
I think I could improve my online presence by writing more blogs, having more photo shoots and posting it on photo streaming sites and writing about it and sharing my sense of fashion by online sites. Another thing is participating in more sites that would showcase my passions and exposing it to other people like putting links of blogs and photos on my twitter, facebook, and other social networking accounts (For example.I made a blog about a photo shoot with the concept Gold Sensation, after posting it, I'll get the link then post in on my twitter, facebook, etc. It would be also better if I would be careful in the words that I say online. I could apply "Think before posting" for improvement of online presence.
